Diatessaron is a hard word to remember, so I just made you read it 9 times.One of the most exciting live bands in Calgary, Diatessaron is constantly pushing the barriers of forms and harmonies typical within a rock band. The energy and musicality of the group have been described as exceptional, and their songs as memorable and exploratory. Their first EP, Sky Blue, was released June 2010, followed by the concept album Monument, released December 2010. Sky Blue contains four of the bands shorter, more concise songs, while Monument showcases the progressive, experimental side of the band. The members of Diatessaron come from varied and extensive musical backgrounds, and together have developed a sound they describe as amplified classical. It is complex music, with odd rhythms, dissonant harmonies, and expansive forms. Diatessarons performances are dynamic, technically superb, and tend to attract a variety of fans.
