The BrixtonesHarley Jay, Matt CaplanIt wasnt so long ago that these two lads met in high school and quickly found they shared an understanding about what music should be. Though their childhoods up to that point bore few similarities, they both knew that something was missing from the cacophony of electronic sh*t around them. Life however, was to lead them in different directions with Eli going off to art school, then playing around the U.S. as a steel guitarist with artists such as The Driftwood Singers and Maxim Ludwig while Harley went back to London to join the Moon Music Orchestra; a drug fueled hippy commune. Dues had to be paid of course, but when the weight of the world became too great they found themselves back in Los Angeles, in a closet, armed with a tape recorder and four years worth of songs. These two Muswell Hillbillies were destined to do something, perhaps reinvigorate this cultural wasteland.Matt CaplanMatt is a native New Yorker who has been writing and playing his own music for over a decade. An accomplished guitar player, he has produced 2 all acoustic albums, ranging in influence from folk to rock to classical, of which he has sold thousands of copies. A diligent self-promoter, he has toured in over 30 states, building a fanbase through college campuses, local bars, music venues, record sales and downloads. His second cd Overtones (2004) moved instantly to the Top Seller category on cdbaby.com, and his MySpace site has garnered over 6,000 friends to date. He can often be seen playing in New York at The Bitter End, Knitting Factory, Crash Mansion, CBGBs gallery, and many other venues. He is currently working on his first full-band record release.Harley Jay My Music sounds like the love child of Keith Urban Jason Mraz and Rascal Flatts. I call it City Country. (I got sick of the country cross over or country pop saying) My personality sounds like the love child of Candy and David Boyter
