Should We RunThe music feels like it wants to be listened to on a windy Evening in autumn--sun and moon both barely in the sky. The Lyrics are deeply personal and psychological; an earnest Examination of the human condition, they were born of Catharsis. They came to katie and krishan less like intellectualEmbellishments and more like demons. While the vocals pull for answers, the violin pulls at the ribs Around your heart. You're thankful for the bass, which wraps Its roots around your ankles, and the dirtiness of the drums for Grounding you on earth. The keys play like a bi-polar shaman, lush/lovely here and dark/gritty there. Their songs were Arranged to keep you fully engaged at all times. This is not Background music. You may even feel like you're getting pulled By the collar once in a while, but not to worry. Just let it Happen. Should we run will take care of you.The seed for should we run was first planted a decade ago at a Hippy commune in oregon when krishan abeyatunge (guitar/vocals) and genevieve walker (violins) first crossed Paths. They began playing live together shortly thereafter. When krishan moved to san francisco a year later, he landed in The home of takuya kawamura (drums). Next, he met neiel Cavin (bass) through a mutual friend and they started Talking music. Katie jay baer (vocals) and krishan started Talking at an art opening at 111 minna and began working Together immediately building the skeletal structures for a Body of work. Once they did so, they called on the aforementioned members along with sam van diest, a stellar, craigslist score (keys), and created should we run.Should we run are currently recording their first album at different fur studios in san francisco.
