Nolan Haener
Nolan Haener is another soul raised in the suburbs of Dallas, Texas representing the deeper shades of house and techno. With Dallas being a playground for artists from Detroit, Chicago and New York in the 90s, Nolan’s main influences were in the form of late night radio shows hosting legends as they popped into Dallas to play parties across the city. The message was clear as he began to sneak out for the late night hours and catch some of these dj’s at a local warehouse. Tell your story through music.
This message has been a part of Haener’s life as he went to college at Texas Tech University (1998) and was given the chance to dj up to 3 times a week with visiting Dallas dj’s who have now globe trotted the world spreading their message. The search led Haener from radio to Ubiquity Records in LA (2002) with a more organic side of music back to the depths of house and techno in San Francisco. SF has been his current home since mid 2008.
Immediately following his transition, Nolan was introduced to Brian Bejarano via mutual Dallas friend Maetrik aka Maceo Plex. This meeting was important in pushing the finer sounds of driving deepness as Bejarano and Haener formed re:body, a duo to host parties of the next level nature. This party was based on a specific location, known as the com#, where an intimate vibe coupled with longer set times really allowed the message to get across in its pure form. re:body hosted San Francisco premiere’s of Linkwood (Firecracker) and Art Department (Crosstown Rebels) as Nolan found it possible to return to his vinyl roots and push their sounds across the city. Currently, Nolan is dj’in where it seems fitting as well as making music that has the intent of making it onto vinyl sometime in the near future. Keep it deep, and keep it true. Haener feels this message has been lost in digital downloads where tracks only last two weeks, so his patience allows for a deeper meaning. Longevity is the answer.
