THE DAN BAND...11pm - 11:45pm
Dan Finnerty caught America's attention as the foul-mouthed wedding singer in the hit film Old School, performing his now-infamous rendition of Total Eclipse of the Heart, as well as his appearance as the sleazy bat-mitzvah singer in Starsky & Hutch and most recently reprising his role as the wedding singer in the smash hit, The Hangover. What started as a drunken joke for Finnerty singing, "I Am Woman" at a karaoke bar has spiraled out of control into THE DAN BAND - a cult hit that has garnered rave reviews from The New York Times, The L.A. Times, Variety and Rolling Stone, among others.

JIMMY MERITT
Jimmy Meritt spent his entire childhood staying up past his bedtime to watch Late Night with David Letterman. Since starting his comedy career, hes been a crowd favorite at Clubs and Colleges all over the East Coast. It has also been his honor to open for esteemed professionals such as Saturday Night Lives Kevin Nealon, Last Comic Standing runner up Ralphie May, VH1s Doug Benson, and the cast of ABCs Whose Line Is It Anyway? Jimmy has also recorded two live appearances for Comcast on Demand. Jimmy is now a Nationally Touring Feature with the We Can Make You Laugh Comedy Tour, visiting Colleges all over America! A self-professed geek, Jimmy uses his unique perspective to explore a wide variety of unique and relatable topics. Jimmy Meritts high energy comedy stands out at any show.
ALYCIA COOPER
Stand-Up Comedienne, Alycia Cooper, wrote the "Top 10's" for the #1 radio show in LA, "The Steve Harvey Morning Show," and has written for the likes of Russell Simmons, of Def Jam fame. She has penned a feature length screenplay and has worked on "The Dr. Phil Show, Wanda Does It, Bands Reunited, The Magic Hour," "The Love Connection," "Men are From Mars, Women are from Venus," "Oh Drama," "The Grown-Ups" and "The Parkers." Alycia has been featured in Essence Magazine as a comedienne to watch! She has also warmed up audiences for Girlfriends and Wanda at Large. Stand Up Credits include "BET's Comicview." Alycia has also been on NBCs Last Comic Standing, "BET Live" and "Oh Drama." She has produced several successful reality shows and has a development deal with Buena Vista/ Disney.
PETE BERGEN
Pete Bergen has been getting the laughs for years. He draws on his life experiences as a brother of 5, uncle of 15, a bar tender for 15 years, a former drug addict, and someone who weighed 340 pounds. There is enough family dysfunction, observing of drunks, and overall self loathing to make everyone in the audience to feel good. His no holds barred observational skills on will have you open mouthed and wondering if it is ok to laugh. It is . Pete has opened for Bob Marley, Jim Short and Chris Coccia, among others. He has also performed at the following venues or festivals either as a stand up or member of his improv troupe, Bright Young Things: HA comedy club (NYC), Del Close Marathon NYC), and the DC Comedy Festival
LUCAS BOHN
Lucas Bohn began performing comedy for friends and family in the small town of Mathews, Virginia. Upon graduating, Bohn moved to the Washington DC area. He began teaching during the day and performing stand-up at night and on the weekends. After performing at the Detroit Comedy Festival agent Dave Moroz,President of Aspen Talent, asked to represent Lucas in the college sector. Lucas now performances at clubs, theaters and colleges throughout the United States.
TIM MILLER
Tim Miller's aggressive but endearing comedy style creates a show worth seeing more than once. His life as a sheltered son of Pentecostal ministers from Waco, TX, and working at the White House (during three administrations) has made for an energetic comedy style that combines an engaging stage presence with a sarcastic zing. Tim started doing stand-up after 8 years in the US Army. After five years he has slowly began trying to leave his professional day job in Washington DC and go head first into wherever the entertainment industry would take him. Since then, Tim has worked with todays biggest names in comedy from Pablo Francisco, Daniel Tosh, Ted Alexandro, and Bob Marley. After performing at the DC Comedy Fest, he was named one of the funniest comics in Washington DC in 2006.

This year we have added two big name bands to perform at DC's largest New Year's Eve Party, Downtown Countdown... THE DAN BAND & EVERCLEAR. We are once again happy to welcome DC101 as our radio partner
The Ticket
Your all inclusive party ticket will include a 5 hour premium open bar (8:30pm - 1:30am), an array of exquisite cuisine, decorations, party favors and access to four party areas of entertainment.
Great Service
With a ratio of one bartender for every 75 guests and 1 buffet station for every 250 guests, you won't spend your New Year's Eve waiting in lines. Capacity is limited to a very comfortable number.
The Crowd
The event attracts a mid 20's to late 30's crowd, but everyone is welcome and we are known for attracting a diverse crowd, both ethnically and age-wise. We also attract an even mix of singles and couples. With 4 huge party areas, the Downtown Countdown will have something for everyone!
The Party Areas
This year, we will show the Peach Bowl, and feature a DJ, dancing and interactive karaoke in the Grand Slam Sports Bar. Next, the Constitution Ballroom will host "Club '10", where Washington's hottest DJ's will help you dance 2010 away in a nightclub setting. Continuing downward, with over 20,000 square feet of party space, the newly renovated, Independence Ballroom will feature three bands on the main stage and will culminate at midnight with a countdown and DC's biggest balloon drop...and lastly, The Riot Act comedy showcase, featuring 5 comedians in a caberet type lounge located in Farragut Square Ballroom.
VIP Area
For those requiring something a little more special, DC's Downtown Countdown will be offering an upscale, exclusive V.I.P. ticket. Because of the popularity over the years, the VIP area will be expanded to include both the Grand Cafe in the Hyatt's atrium and Penn Quarter, the Hotel's new and unique space near the open lagoon. A limited number of tickets will be available and will sell quickly. The V.I.P. area will offer a more upscale menu with the finest array of liquors, beers, wines and champagnes and a ratio of one bartender per every 50 guests....plus an extra 1/2 hour of open bar (8pm - 1:30am)!! The VIP ticketholder will also enjoy live acoustical performances and meet and greets as well as their own registration, will call and complimentary coat check.
Details
You must be 21 or older to attend the event. Dress is formal, creative black tie, optional...kind of like MTV Music Awards. We expect it to be fun not stuffy! So...for guys - jacket and tie or tux, funky preferred & for girls- cocktail or formal dresses, with creativity encouraged!
Please keep in mind, in order to maximize the fun potential, the regular party ticket areas offer very limited seating. While there is some seating available in Grand Slam, the Comedy Room and some additional 'breakout rooms', there is not seating for every guest. There is, however, a much higher percentage of seating per guest in the VIP areas.
