Just south of Market Street on historic Ballard Avenue. The Sunset was a Chinese resturaunt in the 1940s-1970s when it became one of Ballard's most notorious dive-bars. In 2000, Max bought it, built a stage, put in a decent sound-system started having shows, the kickoff night featured late, great Seattle Blues legend Dave Conant...Currently The Sunset hosts a wide variety of local, national and international acts (almost) 7 nights a week, with the Chinese resturaunt's decor and the friendly neighborhood dive-bar atmosphere in tact!
