Green Dolphin Street opened its doors to Chicago and the world in September of 1995. Under the culinary direction of Chef Victor Gechrit--formerly of Green Dolphin Street's sister restaurant, Cafe Absinthe--Green Dolphin Street has blazed new culinary trails. Featured in Chicago Magazine as a "Best New Restaurant" for 1995, and articles in Food & Wine, Cigar Aficianado & Bazzar, Green Dolphin Street is truly Chicago's finest supper club. Its large and open retro-style ballroom is lined with comfortable banquets, intimate cocktail tables, and a grand mahogany bar--all of which surround the ominous stage creating a room like no other. In the Spring and Summer months, Green Dolphin Street boasts one of the finest outdoor dining patios. With three quarters of an acre of manicured lawns and gardens, and an additional two-hundred foot boat dock on the Chicago River, this is truly a sight to behold. Green Dolphin Street is made up of three different areas. A full service restaurant, a club, and an outdoor garden/atrium. All three are available for private events and receptions. There are limitations, however, to dates and times these are available. Club Room The club room is available every day for private receptions. Sunday rental availability is. 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday rental availabilities are 10:00 a.m. to 8:45 p.m. with extension hours available with advance notice. Friday and Saturday rental availabilities are 10:00 a.m. to 8:45 p.m. extension hours require advance notice and must require rental of club for entire evening. All rental costs vary according to time and day of event. Restaurant The Dolphin Room is available for private events Monday through Sunday 10:00a.m. to 4:00 p.m.. Green Room Green Dolphin Streets garden cafe and grounds are available for private events Monday through Sunday. During the winter months, the patio is enclosed and heated.
